The DNR Seams like they are willing to work with us, but who knows. Under these new rules if you are caught clearing brush of and existing trail without permesion you could be prosecuted in court. This is one of my concerns I will address in my email to them before they make these new rules offical. Thanks for spreading the word, hopefully people who read this will take positive action to keep options open for us to legally build freeride trails in the future.

Good read, Stephen! It's always good to hear about rider-owned companies...especially local ones. From what I've seen you sporting out on the trails, they appear to have some quality products to offer!

For work parties keep an eye out on bbtc website, I know the next 3 months they will be trying to finish colonnade, after that Mike W. (the man in charge at colonnade), and bbtc will turn thier attention to Duthie hill. Duthie is about 3-4x the size of colonnade, and about 1/2 that will be for jump/flow/stunt/dh. It only has about twice as much vert as well, but the plain is to fit as much into that space a possable. Good news is we will be working with real dirt, not moon dust and bum piss.

I look at these projects as a steping stone to getting a spot on a real mountain for legit dh/freeride. Not sure how a feel about shuttle as fair a trail mantaince goes, but if everyone pitched in it could work. Lift access, once ski resorts realize they can make money in the summer its on, stevens pass 09 baby.

Thanks for the update - I had to work until 8pm that day so I obviously didn't get to see much. I'm looking forward to seeing this area first-hand. And, yes, we need a legit dh trail that could be shuttled or have lift-access. Please-please-please-please-please?????

You're right about Scotty. He's been important to my riding. Usually where there is a buddy team at the core of a ride scene, it is truly a "Buddies Team."

Pip is LEGEND! I could probably arrange for you to get his autograph, Dawn! :)

Mark, awesome read and thanks for the props. For sure, having others around to feed off of and share the stoke is definitely key towards those riders progressing - at least at a substantial rate, IMHO. We're at a level that neither of us could ever have dreamed about several years back...and still no signs of it slowing down. Neither of us would be at the point we are at now if it wasn't for Scotty. He is the one that planted the seeds several-to-many years (around 10yrs to be exact - holy sh*t!!!) ago by taking us to some incredible trails (Ranger Creek, Suntop, Palisades to name a few) and getting us totally hooked on the dirt. More often than not, we tend to show up at a trail - sometimes early - and stay long enough to close the place down for that particular day. What you see as "dedication" is what we refer to as "addiction". Us three have been the core of quite an amazing group of riders over the years. The faces have changed here and there, but the vibe is always the same.
