Freecaster.tv takes “a look back over the 2009 UCI BMX Supercross presented by Swatch.” This video has footage from all four stages ending with the final in Frejus France. Freecaster.tv does an amazing job at providing live, news and archived footage of BMX and Mountain Bike Events.
One of the great things about our sport is how every event feels like a family reunion. The Transition Bike’s Demo Day at the Colonnade had exactly this tone. Riders came together under I-5 and put a hurting on the the jumps. Especially, K-line. The lip was built up on the Rainbow Bridge and riders such as Transition’s own Casey Groves were showing the rest of us how to trick a big jump. I admit, I don’t have the ability to throw a back flip over a gap, but my fun was just being there and taking part in a great fall afternoon of bike riding. An in my own way, I improved on my own abilities. It just seemed easier going hard when you are being towed in by some of the best - Mike Metzger, Lars Sternberg. The final race in the 2009 Fluidride Cup finals has come and gone. It’s raining in Seattle today, but this weekend there was sunshine, wind and a dusty blown out track. Due to chairs falling off the upper lift during practice we ran only from mid mountain. This didn’t make the race any easier. The duff was thick in the corners and the ruts were legendary. Especially, that one off-camber one in the woods above the bridge. Many of you know what I mean. Continue reading ‘Fluidride Cup 2009 Finals - Results’
Bones Over Metal has been traveling around and shooting Women Of Dirt. Two of the women in our movie, Tammy Donahugh and Darcy Turenne, both were on the podium at this Colorado event. Kathryn Hayes who we hope to get into the next Women Of Dirt film, also shared the podium at this event that took place at Grassroots Cycles in Colorado. The event was organized by Stephanie Nychka, who also has her own section in our up coming film.
This video is by 406 Productions out of Whitefish, MT. Cheers,

As many of you know, Miles and I are working on a DVD called Women Of Dirt. We came down to Solvista Bike Park to cover the women of mountain biking going after the national jersey for our movie. We are also shooting a scene in Boulder, CO. with the Operations Manager of IMBA Tammy Donahugh. She’s a great dirt jumper. We’ll get this scene for the DVD and a Quickshot video from PUSH before heading back to the NW.
I had a great time at Solvista. The Bike Park staff were the best and helped us have a great experience whenever they could. There were a ton of great riding stories. Many of the racers I ride and race with back home in the Northwest came down to Colorado and killed it. Chelsey Stevens, Darrell Jamieson, Chase Jamieson, and Colin Tobin all took home the National Champion title and jersey.
Jill Kintner got Milissa Buhl back for her Sea Otter win at Dual Slalom and beat her at National Championships at 4x. You’ll see all of this in the Women Of Dirt DVD. Melissa Buhl edged out Kathy Pruitt by .07 in USNC Pro Women downhill. Lisa Myklak in third, then Jacqueline Harmony and Katie Holden. Aaron Gwin got a flat at last year’s National Championships, but this year he won.
This event will be in the same place next year. Put it on your calendar. If you qualify for National Championships you need to go. There were over 1800 race starts. If you were not here, you should have been. Ride On!

Video OF DH Course by Matt Patterson of Dirt Corps
The mood at Sol Vista has been one of camaraderie and sun. Carnage is the word of the day. The 3 Amigos are clamming their victims and bikes. They are the most moto type of jump I have seen on a DH course. The 4x course is like a Supercross course with moto woops, channels and deep dirt. Watch this video of Mike Kreger running the Pro DH course.
This weekend under sunny sky and with the last patches of melting snow we raced for the first time since 2007 from the top of Ski Bowl at Mt Hood, OR. This is an epic course with 6 distinct zones. JD Swanguen won with a 4:02. There were 270 racers at the start line making this the largest racer count at Ski Bowl according to Greg Aldrich of Ski Bowl.

When I saw this video, I was really pumped to go ride. It made me want to buy a ticket to Are, Sweden tomorrow. According to Nolltid.se Niklas Byström video blogs from Åre in both winter and summer season, this is his first bike blog for the year. Video with Jonny “Mr Race” Johansson.
