Epic Summer 07

km-squamish-wall-ride_1.jpgAt the start of the bike season last summer I made a decision not to buy a Whistler bike park pass. So where was I going to ride? I came up with a plan, and the plan became known as Epic Summer.

I wanted to ride a new spot every weekend and take my friends with me. I started to make a list: North Shore, Squamish, Woodlot, Post canyon and Black Rock down in Oregon, Galbraith, Mount Washington. So, that you wouldn’t be left out, I took pics and videos for you…

I had many reasons not to buy a Whistler pass, the trials were getting dumbed down, the U.S. dollar was going down, and after 3 years of being a pass holder the trails were just not as fun as they used to be. It donned on me that there were so many great spots within a day trip of Seattle that I had not ridden. I live 3 hours from the shore, and yet I had only been there once. I made it to most of the places on my list, and it ended up being my best season yet.

This season I’m going to visit the places I did not get to last year, and I will be bring my camera with me. So, stay tuned.

Good stuff, man! Looking forward to summer riding (after all the sick spring riding we're about to encounter) as well. Last summer was pretty epic considering I didn't ride anywhere in Canada OR with you (except for PA). I'm also looking forward to posting some stuff of my own on here in the not-too-distant future! :)

Nice videos! I'm a fan of Post Canyon. Remember when it used to be a secret trail?

I've only ridden Post once, last season, when was it still secret? When was it first built? Peace!

Post was "secret" back in 2002 - that's when you needed to know the builders to get access - and photos. I still can't believe that Jake (who started the trails with a few friends) managed to get approval and cooperation from the land management agencies!

Dirt Digler...oh I remember THE secret trail. It's not there anymore, but someone else has built sweet jumps in place; they're steeper than our jumps too, but no ladders, heh, heh. The creek jump is still there, but no more see-saw on the log. Those were fun days. Lots of f'n ivy to chop through though; don't miss that!
