Epic Summer 07

km-squamish-wall-ride_1.jpgAt the start of the bike season last summer I made a decision not to buy a Whistler bike park pass. So where was I going to ride? I came up with a plan, and the plan became known as Epic Summer.

I wanted to ride a new spot every weekend and take my friends with me. I started to make a list: North Shore, Squamish, Woodlot, Post canyon and Black Rock down in Oregon, Galbraith, Mount Washington. So, that you wouldn’t be left out, I took pics and videos for you… Continue reading ‘Epic Summer 07′

Spring Riding

The weather is breaking and riders are dragging their bikes out and dusting off their legs. The sun is drying up the trails in places like Seattle. Yeah, Seattle! While the East Coast of the States is getting rocked by a spring storm, and Cali is bracing for driving rains, Seattle has been sunny and down right special. Here’s a few photos from Saturday’s session @ SST.

Valparaiso Cerro Abajo Cup 2008
origninaly printed on Fluidride.com

Hi everybody I´m Javier Araya, writing from Chile and i´ll write a few words about the biggest race of the year in Chile.

That big race has been placed in Valparaiso since 2003 and it´s the biggest downhill event in the country in terms of crowd and “glamor”. Riders came from several countries like Argentina, Peru, Bolivia, Brazil and the last years more riders from US and Europe had visited us.

The course this year was like always, full of stairs, steep sections and jumps… creating a lot of nice spots to see the riders skills and also creating too much stress on the bikes sometimes…. the race was full of flat tires, broken rims and derailleurs. Slovak President bans MTBs

According to the article at the end of this link, the President of Slovakia bans mountain biking on all of the small country’s trails. It turns out they don’t have any advocacy groups to help fight their cause. This really drives home the importance of supporting your local group.

Colonnade Work Party

The work on Phase two of the Colonnade ( the intermediate/advanace freeride part) is coming along great. It’s good to see so many riders down there digging and throwing dirt on a Saturday in January. Riding too! A builder has got to test the dirt’s durability. A Seattle Area rider wandering on down can easily find a way to get involved. Come join in the work and burn away tons of man hours and all that winter fat. Mike is running a very positive operation and work is getting down quickly. Check out the official BBTC.org site.
